Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting on Friday. PM Modi said radicalization is a big problem for the world and the recent developments in Afghanistan have added to the challenge.

Addressing the online meeting, PM Modi congratulated Iran on becoming the new member country of SCO. This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the SCO. It is a matter of happiness that new friends are joining us on this auspicious occasion. I welcome Iran as a new member state of the SCO.

PM Modi said, 'In India and almost all the countries of the SCO, there are liberal, tolerant and inclusive institutions and traditions associated with Islam. SCO should work to develop a strong mechanism between them.

This meeting is going on in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. Apart from India, China, Russia, Pakistan, and some Central Asian countries have also participated in this. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is also present in Dushanbe for the meeting.

In the meeting, PM Modi also mentioned about Rupee card, UPI, and Cowin. He said, whether it is a technology like UPI and RuPay card to increase financial inclusion or digital platforms like Aarogya-Setu and Cowin, we have voluntarily shared all these with other countries in the fight against Covid.

In this meeting, India will discuss regional security, especially the political situation in Afghanistan, the impact of the Corona epidemic, increasing the number of members of the SCO, and promoting multilateral economic cooperation.

Apart from these, India will also discuss the anti-terror policies of the SCO, economic cooperation, and promotion of people-to-people relations in the SCO countries. Let us tell you that at the BRICS summit last week, Prime Minister Modi said in the presence of Chinese President Jinping that the origin of the corona epidemic should be investigated transparently. China has been very strict about this demand.
