British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has broken his silence on the allegations of apartheid in Buckingham Palace. Although he did not mention it directly. Sunak said that we should raise our voices against apartheid. Wherever such allegations are made, they should be investigated.
Sunak of Indian origin said- I faced apartheid in my childhood. He said- It used to feel worse when this kind of behavior used to happen in front of younger siblings. But I am happy to say that whatever experience I have had in my childhood, no one will have that experience today. Because our country has made a lot of progress in dealing with apartheid. However, there is still a lot of work to be done in tackling apartheid.
those words stung
On apartheid matters, he said – only a few words were said. But, nothing can sting as much as he used to sting. These words pierce your heart. There is a minority group. He always assumes that a racist attitude is being adopted towards him. But, I would not like to project such an image of my country.
Prince William's godmother was accused of apartheid
On November 1, it was reported that an important member of Britain's Buckingham Palace had to resign due to racial comments. Reports said that the commenter is 83-year-old Suzanne Hussey, the godmother of Prince William. He repeatedly asked a black woman from which part of Africa she came, while the woman had already told many times that she was a citizen of Britain.
The palace had expressed regret
The spokesperson of the Palace issued a statement expressing regret over the incident at Buckingham Palace. Along with this, it was said that the matter will be investigated. The spokesperson said – such cases cannot be accepted at all. We are sorry for such a comment. He did not name the person who made the racist comment but did say that the member expressed his desire to apologize and regret that his comment had hurt anyone.
Megan Merkel also made allegations of apartheid
This was not the first case of apartheid at Buckingham Palace. Meghan Markle, the wife of King Charles' younger son Prince Harry, also alleged that she was subjected to racist comments at the palace. Megan had said that when she was pregnant, a member of the palace staff questioned her about the color of her child.
