Kannada superstar Yash's highly anticipated film 'Toxic' is getting embroiled in one controversy after another. The 2-minute 51-second teaser of the film has already sparked outrage on social media due to scenes depicting Yash and a woman inside a car. Now, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) women's wing has also requested the commission to direct the state government to remove the 'Toxic' teaser.

However, the controversy surrounding this gangster drama film, 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups', directed by Geetu Mohandas, doesn't end there. Social activist Dinesh Kallahalli has filed an official complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) regarding the "obscene, intimate suggestive, and morally objectionable" scenes shown in the teaser. Read below for details of what he wrote in his complaint letter to the censor board:

Scenes are excessively vulgar and obscene

According to a report, the social activist, in his complaint addressed to the chairman of the censor board, Prasoon Joshi, wrote, "Some scenes in the teaser are extremely obscene, intimate suggestive, and vulgar. This teaser is being circulated on social media without any age restrictions, and is being watched by children and young people. This content is legally unacceptable and socially harmful."

He further argued that the content of 'Toxic' violates constitutional norms. According to him, the Honorable Supreme Court has always maintained that obscenity and intimate explicit material should not be protected in any form in India.

Demand raised for review of the 'Toxic' trailer

In his complaint, Dinesh Kallahalli also cited the Cinematography Act, 1952, stating that the Central Board of Film Certification should consider decency, morality, and social responsibilities when approving any film, trailer, or promotional material. In the complaint written to Prasoon Joshi, the social activist also requested that the Censor Board review the trailer and take whatever steps they deem necessary. They also urged that the circulation of the 'Toxic' teaser be stopped. They demanded legal action against the film's director, producers, and everyone else involved with the film.

The teaser for 'Toxic' was released on Yash's birthday (January 8). While fans appreciated Yash's action and swagger, allegations of "objectifying" women have created problems for the film. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on January 19.
