The presidential election in Sri Lanka today: Dulce Alhapparuma's claim is strongest, Ranil Wickremesinghe's leaf will be cut from all sides

Posted on 20th Jul 2022 10:55 am by rohit kumar

A new president will be elected today in financially bankrupt Sri Lanka. Secret voting will be held in Parliament after 44 years. That is, for the first time after 1978, the President will not be elected through the mandate but the secret vote of the MPs. After this, the speaker will announce the name of the new president. Some reports are telling that the country is going to get a new Prime Minister along with the new President.

If you look closely, the truth comes out. And that is that the humiliation of power that brought Sri Lanka to these conditions, the same situation is still there. It is believed that Dulce Alhapparuma could become the new president. Sajith Premadasa can take over as the new Prime Minister. Overall, Sri Lankan leaders are once again going to do the same 'match-fixing', due to which the country reached this worst phase.

how to fix this match

Till Tuesday, there were four important names in the presidential race. Ranil Wickremesinghe, Dulas Alhapparuma, Anura Kumara and Sajith Premadasa. Two of these names also topped the priority. Dulce Alhapparuma and Sajith Premadasa. It happened that Sajith withdrew his name and he was out of the race for the post of President. This is where the setting appears to be.

The Sri Lanka Mirror report states that Sajith withdrew his name on the condition that he would be made the Prime Minister. For this, Dul's party will fully support it. Ranil Wickremesinghe, despite being the most capable, seems to be lagging in this political game. Anura Kumara doesn't seem to have the necessary support. If a miracle happens at the last moment, it is a different matter.

There will be a lot of money in the government too

The interesting thing is that nothing is being hidden from the public in this game of being elected President and Prime Minister. For example, Dulce is currently the opposition leader. His party SJB's general secretary Ranjith Bandara clearly said on Tuesday that if Dulce becomes the president, Sajith will be made the prime minister.

Not only this, but the picture of the new government also seems to be clear. Like Ranjith, without hiding anything, also said that if Dulas becomes the President and Sajith becomes the Prime Minister, then all the allies will get a place in the government.

In other words, the cream of power will be consumed by those leaders who at one point or the other were close to the Rajapaksa family or openly supported them. The bigger danger is that these leaders will not allow any action against the Rajapaksa family. The matter is in danger of going cold.

eyes of the world

On July 2, a statement was issued by Japan. It needs to be looked at very carefully. The Japanese government had refused to give 'cash relief' to Sri Lanka. It is necessary to understand the meaning of this step.

Even America, Japan, and India are avoiding giving cash to Sri Lanka as a bailout. The reason for this is the corrupt leaders and corrupt system there. These countries feel that people will not get the benefit of cash relief.

IMF and World Bank are being forwarded. This financial institution will give a bailout package to Sri Lanka under strict conditions. They will have a legal foundation and any government of Sri Lanka will have to accept these conditions.

The secret of China's silence

A large section of Sri Lanka believes that if the Rajapaksa family is behind the bankruptcy of the country, then China was standing behind this family too. The Rajapaksa family and China had a secret relationship for almost 30 years.

When people took to the streets against the Rajapaksa family, China also pulled out. He was being seen as a villain ever since he took over the Hambantota port. Now China is completely silent.

His fourth quad partner is Australia along with the US, Japan, and India. These four countries now do not want to give any chance to China to spread their feet in Sri Lanka. Therefore, efforts are being made to adopt that method of help, which directly benefits the public instead of the Sri Lankan leaders.
