The second wave of the Corona epidemic, why it wreaked so much havoc on India?

In early March this year, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan announced that the Covid-19 epidemic in India is now moving towards the 'end'.

Along with this announcement, the Health Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and said that "it has presented an eye for international cooperation to the world". India started supplying vaccines to other countries under its much-publicized 'Vaccine Diplomacy' from January itself.

Harsh Vardhan was the reason for the country being so hopeful towards the elimination of corona infection. In fact, in the middle of September, the rate of daily corona infection reached the highest level in the country.

In those days it reached the level of 93 thousand every day. But after this, there was a sharp decline.

By the middle of February, only 11,000 cases were coming every day. The weekly average of those who died every day had also fallen below 100.

In this way, the celebration of the elimination of the coronavirus started at the end of last year. From politicians to policy-makers and a section of the media, it was truly accepted that India has now come out of this difficulty.

The crowd of rallies and the celebration of cricket spoiled the game

In December, officials of the Reserve Bank of India also said that India is now moving towards the "elimination of Corona infection".

Taking the help of the metaphors used in the poems, these officials said, "There is evidence that the Indian economy is now moving from the long shadow of the winter season to the brightest glowing days."

During that time PM Narendra Modi was called "Vaccine Guru".

At the end of February, the Election Commission announced assembly elections in five states. The number of voters who are contesting from 824 seats in these states is 18.60 crore.

The voting, which began on March 27, was to last for more than a month. Elections were announced in West Bengal in eight phases. After this, the election campaign started in full swing.

In these constituencies, neither a safety protocol was being adopted nor social distancing was being followed.

Meanwhile, one lakh and 30,000 spectators were allowed to watch two international one-day matches between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat in mid-March. Most of these were worn without a mask.

And then within a month of this, the chain of troubles started. India once again fell under the corona infection. This second wave of corona infection is proving very dangerous and it has badly hit the cities of India.

Due to this, the lockdown has to be done in many places afresh.

In this second wave of Corona, by mid-April, about one lakh cases of infections started every day. On Sunday, 2,70,000 cases of corona infection were registered in India and more than 1600 people had died. This was the largest record for infections and deaths in one day.

In mid-February, journalist Tabbusum Badnagarwala of the English newspaper Indian Express wrote in his report that the pace of the rise of the Corona case has reached seven times in many parts of Maharashtra.

He also wrote that samples from infected people are being sent for genome sequencing to confirm whether this new type of virus is coming from outside?

At the end of February, the BBC reported once again that the corona infection in India had increased rapidly. In this report, the question was raised whether India is going to face the new wave of Covid.

Dr. Shyamsunder Nikam, a civil surgeon from a district in Corona, Maharashtra, had said at the time, "We don't know what is causing this storm of Corona infection. But the biggest concern is that now the whole Families are in the grip of infection. This is a completely new trend. "

Now experts are saying that there was a big noise about India's unique abilities to 'defeat' Covid. It was said that there is a young population here.

Most people live in villages. There is an inherently resistant capacity within the countrymen. That's why Corona lost. But the declaration of victory from Corona so soon has been overwhelming.
