Shashi Pratap Singh aka Suman Singh
Earlier during the debate on the sentence on Thursday, the CBI and the aggrieved party demanded maximum punishment for the culprits. Explain that there is a provision of life imprisonment under the maximum punishment, but the court has sentenced only 10 years. Let me tell you that the court has already sentenced Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the rape case, in which he has been sentenced to be kept in jail till natural death.
All seven convicts, including convict Kuldeep Singh Sengar, were present in the court during the debate on the sentence. The CBI and the victim's lawyer, Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, demanded maximum punishment, while the convicts sought mercy from the court.
In this case, the court on March 4, former MLA Kuldeep Sengar, the then SHO of Makhi police station, Ashok Singh Bhadauria, the then Sub Inspector Kamta Prasad, Vineet Mishra alias Vinay Mishra, Birender Singh alias Bauwa Singh, Shashi Pratap Singh alias Suman Singh and Jaideep Singh alias Atul Singh Sengar was convicted.
The judge had said that the father of the rape victim was implicated by Sengar with the help of police personnel. The victim was so brutally assaulted that he died. CBI was successful in proving that Kuldeep was in touch with the policemen over the phone when the victim's father was assaulted. After this, a false case of illegal weapon was registered against the victim. Sanger was in contact with doctors during a medical checkup at the hospital. Instead of keeping the injured in hospital, he was sent to judicial custody and died four days later.
In the chargesheet, the CBI said that on April 3, 2018, there was a debate between the victim's father and Shashi Pratap Singh over the lift. The rape victim's father was returning home from work with a colleague. During this, he asked for a lift from Shashi Pratap, but he refused. Meanwhile, a debate took place and Shashi Pratap called Kuldeep Sengar's brother Atul Sengar and called him on the spot. Atul, along with some of his comrades, came to the spot and badly beat up the victim's father, his accomplice. After this he took them to the police station and got a case registered on them.
If I have done something wrong during the sentence debate, hang me. Put acid in my eyes. Let me be judged or hanged. I have two daughters, forgive me. These are the words that former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar spoke during the debate on the sentence of Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma of Tis Hazari court on Thursday.
The judge said, think before committing the crime, you broke all the laws
At this, the judge told Sanger that he had been convicted, as there was evidence against him. The judge said, you have a family, so is the family of others. You should have thought of all this before committing the crime, but you broke all the laws one after the other.
