After the Legislative Assembly seats with Jatland and dominant Muslim votes, now Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav's ordeal is in the Yadav belt and Bundelkhand adjoining his home district Etawah. The third phase elections are being held in 59 Vidhan Sabha seats in 16 districts. In the year 2017, the SP had got only eight seats from here, while in 2012 it had got 37 seats. Akhilesh is pushing for a repeat performance of 2012 in his stronghold. To create a party atmosphere in this entire area, Akhilesh himself is also contesting from Karhal seat of Mainpuri.

The account was not opened in many seats in the 2017 elections: The third phase of elections in Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, and Mahoba districts have to be Voting will be held in this phase on February 20. It is a big challenge in front of Akhilesh to regain the political base he had lost in his stronghold. In the seats of Bundelkhand where elections are to be held in the third phase, the SP could not even open its account last time. The 2017 election was contested by the SP in alliance with Congress.

SP has suffered the loss of Shivpal's separation: After running the government for five years, in the 2017 elections, SP had suffered a setback in districts like Etah, Kannauj, Etawah, Farukhabad, Kanpur Dehat. BJP's non-Yadav OBC card was quite successful. Shakya and Lodh voters went outright in favor of BJP, but this time SP has also made special arrangements to channel these votes. Akhilesh has also made uncle Shivpal a candidate from Jaswantnagar by including his uncle Shivpal in the alliance so that there is no rigging in Aadhaar votes. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the SP had to suffer a lot due to the separation of Shivpal.

Akhilesh's focus is on 31 seats: The special thing is that even though SP had got eight seats in the 2017 elections, its candidates were second in 31 seats. Some seats were lost by the SP by a small margin. This time Akhilesh has given special focus on these seats. The SP President has given the responsibility of each assembly seat to his youth team, as well as assigned the seats of influence to the prominent leaders of different fraternities. These leaders are trying to woo the voters of their respective communities by holding small meetings.

SP got success in these seats: Sirsaganj, Mainpuri, Kishni, Karhal, Kannauj, Jaswantnagar, Sisamau, and Aryanagar

SP was at number two in these: Jasrana, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Kasganj, Amapur, Patiali, Aliganj, Etah, Marhara, Jalesar, Bhogaon, Kayamganj, Amritpur, Bhojpur, Tirwa, Etawah, Bharthana, Bidhuna, Dibiyapur, Rasulabad, Akbarpur Rania , Bithoor, Kalyanpur, Orai, Babina, Mauranipur, Garautha, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Charkhari.

The credibility of many ministers including Akhilesh-Shivpal is at stake: In the third phase, along with Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav, the reputation of many ministers of the Yogi government is also at stake. Union Minister SP Singh Baghel is contesting from Karhal against Akhilesh. Former Union Minister Salman Khurshid's wife Louise Khurshid is contesting from the Congress in the Farukhabad seat. MLA Ramveer Upadhyay, who left the BSP and joined the BJP, is again in the fray from Sadabad. Yogi government minister Satish Mahana is contesting from Maharajpur seat of Kanpur. Asim Arun, who left the job of IPS in Kannauj's reserved seat to try his luck in politics, is in the fray on a BJP ticket. Mulayam Singh Yadav's brother Hariom Yadav is contesting from the BJP this time in the Sirsaganj seat. Congress veteran Ajay Kapoor is in the fray from the Kidwainagar seat of Kanpur and Haji Irfan Solanki of SP is again in the fray from the Sisamau seat.
