A total of 19 members, including seven Trinamool Congress members, were on Tuesday suspended from the House for the remaining period of this week for disrupting the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. However, in the meantime, the side of the government has also come to the fore. It said that it was ready to discuss the issue of inflation and the opposition members were also informed about the same. The Center said that the Finance Minister is unwell and the issue will be discussed when she returns. Earlier the Rajya Sabha members demonstrated fiercely in the House for not discussing the issue of inflation.

After the suspension of the members, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the decision has been taken with a heavy heart. "The Speaker has decided to suspend some members of the opposition parties. We have said time and again that we are open to discussion on any issue including price hike and have agreed to their demand for a discussion on this issue. They are continuously disturbing the proceedings of the House."

He said that the government is hopeful that when Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman comes back to work, the issue of inflation will be discussed. Please tell me that the Finance Minister is unwell, so she is not able to participate in the monsoon session of Parliament. Goel said that despite assurances from the government, the opposition continuously obstructed the proceedings of the House and violated the rights of other members to ask questions and participate in debates.

The suspended Rajya Sabha MPs also include members from Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), the Communist Party of India, and the Marxist Communist Party. Deputy Chairman Harivansh repeatedly requested the protesting opposition members to return to their respective places and not disturb the proceedings of the House. He also warned the rioting members but it did not have any effect on them. Seeing that the ruckus did not stop and there was no effect on the opposition members, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan moved a motion to suspend 10 members, but when it was passed by voice vote, Harivansh took the names of 19 members and said that these members should be suspended. is suspended from the remaining meetings of the week.
