
A total of 19 members, including seven Trinamool Congress members, were on Tuesday suspended from the House for the remaining period of this week for disrupting the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. After the suspension of the members, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the decision has been taken with a heavy heart. "The Speaker has decided to suspend some members of the opposition parties. We have said time and again that we are open to discussion on any issue including price hike and have agreed to their demand for a discussion on this issue. They are continuously disturbing the proceedings of the House."
He said that the government is hopeful that when Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman comes back to work, the issue of inflation will be discussed.
