On Monday, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was very active. On Twitter too, he tried to clarify Pakistan's stand on the latest situation in Afghanistan by making several tweets in a row.
The government of Afghanistan led by Ashraf Ghani and many of its top officials criticized Pakistan's role on the Taliban issue.
But now Afghanistan is controlled by the Taliban and the capital Kabul is also under their control. In such a situation, everyone's eyes are on Pakistan's stand, what does it do next.
On Monday, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, who talked about the role of Pakistan's peace and stability, got angry at India late at night and made serious allegations against India by tweeting.
In fact, on Monday, a meeting of the United Nations Security Council was called on the issue of Afghanistan in a hurry.
The member countries of the Security Council called on the Taliban in the meeting to resolve the current conflict under a political settlement and not to allow Afghanistan to become a refuge for terrorists once again.
But Pakistan's displeasure was that it was not given a chance to speak. Last week also, Pakistan was not given a chance to speak in the emergency meeting of the Security Council convened on the situation in Afghanistan.
India is chairing the United Nations Security Council this month. Because of this, Pakistan has held India responsible for this.
heartburn
Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed his displeasure by tweeting.
He wrote in his tweet, "It is unfortunate that Pakistan was once again not given a chance to speak at the UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan. It is undeniable that after Afghanistan, Pakistan has been the victim of this decades-long conflict. Is."
He further wrote that at this critical juncture in Afghanistan's future, India's partisan and obstructive actions are repeatedly politicizing this multilateral platform. However, its purpose is peace. This step of India shows what is its intention regarding Afghanistan and this region.
In the UN Security Council meeting held on Monday night, India's Permanent Representative TS Tirumurti expressed concern over the current situation in Afghanistan.
He also referred to the chaos at Kabul airport on Monday and the tragic events that took place during this period.
After the special session of the Security Council, Pakistan's Permanent Representative Munir Akram accused India of trying to stop Pakistan's participation in meetings in Afghanistan.
Munir Akram said, "Pakistan has an important role in Afghanistan's peace process, but India is deliberately not allowing Pakistan to speak about Afghanistan."
China also expressed concern
In this meeting of the Security Council, China's representative Zhang Jun expressed concern over the current situation in Afghanistan and appealed to the member countries to try to prevent humanitarian tragedy there.
Zhang expressed regret for not allowing Pakistan to speak at the meeting.
He said that ending the war in Afghanistan is not only the wish of the Afghan people but the international community as well. He expressed hope that the Taliban will fulfill its promise to establish an inclusive government in Afghanistan and ensure the safety of its people.
Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said that his country is monitoring the situation in Afghanistan. He said that the situation in Afghanistan has changed so rapidly in the last few days that everyone is surprised.
The Russian representative also questioned the capability of the Afghan security forces and asked how a soldier who has been training for 20 years would be defeated so easily. He said that he will keep in touch with the Taliban and see what the group is doing, but that does not mean that we are giving recognition to the Taliban.
He also expressed concern to the Russian representative that ISIS and other organizations are still active in Afghanistan and it could pose a security threat to the neighboring countries.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also addressed the meeting and called the current situation in Afghanistan sad. He appealed to all concerned, and especially the Taliban, to respect human rights and stop the bloodshed.
