Amid the fury of the corona virus, there was an uproar over the funeral of the corona virus suspect in Ambala, Haryana on Monday. The matter got so bad that a crowd of 200 to 400 people who attended the funeral attacked the police and doctors. It is being told that the woman suspected of corona died on Monday after which she was to be cremated. Villagers protested to the police arriving at the funeral site in violation of the lockdown.
According to the news agency ANI, when the corpse of the corona suspect woman was brought to the funeral site of Chandpura for the last rites, the villagers protested against it. The matter grew so much that the police and locals clashed over the funeral procession. The villagers pelted stones at the policemen and the matter got so bad that the policemen had to be lathi-charged to remove the mob.
It is being told that the villagers were adamant not to perform the last rites at that place. While the administration had chosen this place under all the security arrangements. The villagers not only attacked police and doctors teams with sticks, but also damaged and sabotaged the ambulances. The Greeks also threw stones at the team of police-doctors.
Ambala DSP Ram Kumar said, this place is for the funeral of the patients and suspects of Covid-19. When we came here with the corpse of a woman suspected of Corona, the villagers protested. About 200 to 400 people gathered here in violation of the lockdown and attacked the team of police and doctors. He said that we explained to the villagers that all security measures were adopted but they were not ready to listen. Strict action will be taken against those who violate the lockdown and attack the doctors and policemen.
