Vande Bharat Fire: Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat train caught fire, incident happened near Vidisha, all passengers safe

A major accident was averted on Monday in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. A sudden fire broke out in the Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat Express here. A fire broke out in the battery box near Vidisha in the Vande Bharat train that left for Delhi from Bhopal's Rani Kamlapati station on Monday morning, although the railways controlled the fire in time. No railway passenger has been injured in the incident. The Vande Bharat train has been dispatched to Nizamuddin railway station at 10:30 am from Kurwai station in Vidisha. Home Minister Narottam Mishra talked to the DRM and inquired about the incident.

 

According to the information, there was an incident of arson on Vande Bharat Express near Kurwai Kaithora. The fire broke out in the C-14 coach. After the accident, the passengers were safely evacuated by stopping the train. There were 36 passengers in this coach. As soon as the accident was reported, the train was stopped at Kurwai at 7:10 am and the passengers were evacuated safely. The fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Passengers traveling in the train say that there was a sound of flaming from under the seat in the coach. Hearing the sound, the passengers got scared and ran from there. When the train stopped, it was found that the battery was on fire. Many VIPs including IS Avinash Lavania, and Congress leader Ajay Singh were traveling on this train. After the information of the incident, the entire train has been evacuated. Let me tell you, the Vande Bharat Express train was going from Bhopal to Hazrat Nizamuddin. It left from Rani Kamlapati Railway Station at 5:40 am.

The battery box caught fire

According to information received from the Indian Railways, the fire was confined to the battery box of the Vande Bharat train, which has been doused. Electrical isolation is being done and the train will start soon. All passengers are safe. The battery box is located in the undergear relatively far from the passenger area. As the incident occurred, the electrical protection systems isolated the batteries. The fire was extinguished and the dead batteries were removed. The train is ready to run.

 

Chief Public Relations Officer of West Central Railway, Rahul Srivastava said that today on 17.07.2023, train number 20171 Rani Kamlapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat Express departing from Rani Kamlapati station at the scheduled time at 05:40 am was passing through Kalhar station, during this The station manager at Kalhar was informed about smoke coming out of the battery box of the C-14 coach of the train. Showing readiness by the administration, the train was stopped at Kurwai Kaithora station and checked.

 

The battery box is located in the undergear relatively far from the passenger area. As the incident occurred, the electrical protection systems isolated the batteries. The fire was extinguished and the defective batteries were removed. The train is ready to run. All the passengers of the vehicle are safe. Due to the delay of the train, additional catering arrangements are being made for the passengers.
