
Six people lost their lives in the collapse of an under-construction building in the Horamavu Agara area of Bangalore on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of each deceased in the building collapse incident.
The Prime Minister's Office, giving information in a post on X, wrote that I am saddened by the loss of life and property due to the collapse of a building in Bengaluru. My condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover soon. The families of each deceased will be provided an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF. The injured will be given Rs 50,000.

Five people were confirmed dead in the accident on Tuesday, after which another body was recovered on Wednesday, taking the total number of deaths from the spot to six. According to the police, five bodies were recovered earlier and five people have been injured in the incident. Regarding this, the Additional Commissioner of Bengaluru Satish Kumar has identified the deceased as Harman, Tripal, Mohammed Sahil, Satya Raju, and Shankar. At the same time, the injured have been identified as Jagadevi, Rashid, Nagaraju, Ramesh Kumar, and Ayaz. The injured are being treated at Bangalore North Hospital, while one injured is in Hosmat Hospital.
Let us tell you that an FIR has been registered at Hennur Police Station against three named accused Muniraj Reddy, Mohan Reddy, and Elumalai in the building collapse case. They have been charged under various sections of the BNS and Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, after which Bhuvan Reddy, son of building owner Muniraj Reddy, has been arrested. In this case, DCP East D Devraj said that contractor Muniyappa, responsible for the construction of four floors, has also been taken into custody.
