Ajinkya Rahane Ruled out IPL 2022: By the end of IPL 2022, Kolkata Knight Riders have suffered another setback. After Pat Cummins, opener Ajinkya Rahane has also been ruled out of the tournament. Rahane had suffered a hamstring injury in the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and did not take the field while fielding. Ajinkya Rahane has suffered a serious Grade III hamstring injury and will be out of Kolkata Knight Riders' bio bubble on Monday, reports Cricbuzz. Rahane has scored 133 runs in seven matches of this IPL.
Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India told Cricbuzz that he will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, where he may require more than four weeks of rehab. Rahane may also be ruled out of India's tour of England due to this injury.
The former vice-captain of the Indian Test team has already lost his place in the playing XI. He and Cheteshwar Pujara were replaced by Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer the team. Pujara has recently knocked on the door of return to Team India by scoring runs in county cricket in a bang style but Rahane's return seems difficult from here. It is expected that the team for India's tour of England can be announced this week and India will leave for England on 16 June.
The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee is expected to pick two teams this week - one for the England tour and the other for the home series against South Africa.
