Assam Police arrested three people in Miya Museum case, related to ABT and Al-Qaeda

The Assam Police in connection with a private Mia museum dedicated to the Mia Muslim community in Goalpara district has been accused of misappropriation of the premises and the involvement of Bangladeshi terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team and Al-Qaeda. Three people have been arrested on charges of their suspicious relations with The arrested people have been identified as Mohar Ali, residents of Goalpara, and Abdul Baten and Tanu Dhadumiya of Dhubri.

 

Assam police detained two people

The Assam Police had on Monday detained two persons, Mohar Ali and Abdul Baten, in this connection. Police said they have been booked under sections 120 (b), 121, 121 (a), and 122 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act i.e. UAPA. The Nalbari district police produced him in the court of Nalbari on Wednesday.

Police got two days' remand

 

Nalbari district superintendent of police Pabindra Kumar Nath told ANI that the police have taken him on remand for two days.

 

He further said, “We have also produced before the court two other people who were arrested by the Tamulpur district police in the AQIS/ABT case.

 

The court has sent both of them to police custody for three days.

 

Assam Police Special Director General GP Singh said on Twitter that the two would be questioned about their links with terrorist organizations Ansarullah Bangla Team and al-Qaeda activities in the Indian subcontinent.

 

District Administration sealed Mia Museum

Recently a private Miya museum was inaugurated by Miya Parishad in the Dapkarbhita Lakhipur area of ​​the Goalpara district of Assam, which was sealed by the district administration on Tuesday. The museum was said to have been opened in a PMAY house. Goalpara district circle officer Rajiv Gogoi said that, as per the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner of Goalpara district, we have sealed the house built under PM Awas Yojana-Rural.

 

Char-Chapori spread over 3.60 lakh hectares of land

The residents of the Char-Chaporis (river islands) of the Brahmaputra are mostly Bengali-speaking Muslims and the locals call them Miya's. The Miya community in Assam consists of the descendants of Muslim migrants who came to Assam from East Bengal (now Bangladesh). Char-Chapori is spread over an area of ​​about 3.60 lakh hectares.
