Five people fell ill after consuming mouth freshener at La Foresta restaurant in Sector-90, Gurugram. Bleeding started coming out along with a burning sensation in the mouth. When the condition became serious, all five had to be admitted to a private hospital. Khedkidaula police station has registered a case on the complaint.
In the complaint given to the police, Ankit Kumar of Eldeco Mystic Greens, Omicron- 1, Greater Noida (UP) said that he along with his wife Neha Sabharwal, Manik Gaur, and his wife Preetika, Deepak Arora and his wife Himani, went to La Foresta restaurant at 9.30 pm on March 2. Had gone to have food in Sector 90 Gurugram. The victim says that after the meal, restaurant waiter Amrit Pal Kaur offered him mouth freshener.
As soon as they took it, all five started having a burning sensation in their mouth and started vomiting along with bleeding from the mouth. Ankit Kumar was carrying his one-year-old daughter in his lap, hence did not take mouth freshener. The victim says that when the health of his friends started getting worse, he asked the waiter about the packet. On this, the waiter placed the polythene packet in front and took possession of it.
Ankit alleged that despite the health of the five being very ill, the restaurant staff did not help. On this, he called the police helpline. After this, all five were admitted to a nearby private hospital. When Ankit showed the mouth freshener to the doctor, he said that it was dry ice. According to the doctor, it is fatal and can even lead to death. On the complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused restaurant employees and others. The police had gone to the spot to take the statements of the sick people but the doctor refused due to their ill health.
