IND W vs ENG W: England defeated India by 38 runs in the first T20, Shefali Verma's half-century went in vain

In the first match of the three T20 match series between India and England, India had to face defeat by 38 runs. England lost the toss and batted first and scored 197 runs losing six wickets. In response, Team India could score only 159 runs after losing six wickets. With this victory, the England team has gone 1-0 ahead in the three-match T20 series.

 

In this match, Nat Shiver scored 77 runs for England and Daniel Yott also contributed 75 runs. Sophie Eccleston took three wickets with the ball. For India, Shefali Verma scored 52 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur scored 26 runs. With the ball, Renuka Singh took three wickets and Shreyanka Patil took two wickets.

Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring six runs in seven balls, she was clean-bowled by Nat Shiver Brunt.

 

Jemimah Rodrigues was out after scoring four runs in eight balls, Freya Kemp caught her at the hands of Amy Jones.

 

Harmanpreet Kaur was out after scoring 26 runs in 21 balls, she was clean-bowled by Sophie Eccleston.

 

Richa Ghosh was out after scoring 21 runs in 16 balls, and Sarah Glenn got her caught by Alice Capsey.

 

Shafali Verma was out after scoring 52 runs in 42 balls, Sophie Eccleston got her caught by Sarah Glenn.

 

Kanika Ahuja returned to the pavilion after scoring 15 runs in 12 balls and was caught by Nat Shiver off Eccleston's ball.

 

What happened in the first innings?

India won the toss and decided to bowl first. England, batting first, scored 197 runs for six wickets. Nat Shiver scored the maximum 77 runs for England. Daniel Yaut also contributed 75 runs. In the end, Amy Jones scored 23 runs in nine balls. Renuka Singh took three wickets for India. Shreyanka Patil got two wickets and Saika Ishaq got one wicket. Team India had a great start in this match. Renuka Singh put England on the back foot by taking two consecutive wickets in the first over itself. After this, Shiver-Yaught made a century partnership and made a comeback for England.

Daniel Yaut was out after scoring 75 runs in 47 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes, she was stumped by Richa Ghosh off the bowling of Saika Ishaq.

Heather Knight was out after scoring six runs in seven balls, she was bowled by Shreyanka Patil.

 

Nat Shiver Brunt was out after scoring 77 runs in 53 balls with the help of 13 fours, Richa Ghosh took a brilliant catch on Renuka's ball.

 

Amy Jones was out after scoring 23 runs in nine balls with the help of three fours and a six. She was caught by Jemima off Shreyanka's ball.

 

The Indian women's cricket team has taken the field after a long break. The T20 series between India and England women's teams started with the first T20 match in Mumbai. The Indian team won the toss and decided to bowl first. In this match, two players Saika Ishaq and Shreyanka Patil made their debut for India. England women's team will play three T20 and one Test match on the tour of India.
