In the report of the investigation in connection with the riots in Muzaffarnagar, it was said that since this Mahapanchayat on September 29, 2013, 'communal harmony in western Uttar Pradesh had deteriorated' and this area of western Uttar Pradesh Many villages were hit by riots.

In these riots, FIRs were also registered against many people from both sides, including the names of leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union.

This area of Uttar Pradesh, popularly known as the 'Sugarcane Belt', was considered a strong stronghold of Congress, the Samajwadi Party, and the Bahujan Samaj Party. The farmers and the issues related to them have always dominated the politics here. Different political parties have been accused that they have gained votes in this area only by cashing in on the issues of farmers.

But after the riots, the politics of the region changed completely and in the political riot of this area, the Bharatiya Janata Party made a strong 'entry'. So strong that Chaudhary Ajit Singh, considered the biggest and strongest farmer in this area, also had to face defeat.

'Impressed by the riots' Ghulam Mohammad Joula was considered very close to Mahendra Singh Tikait, the farmer leader. Joule, hurt by the riots, separated himself from the Indian Farmers Union and formed a new organization - the Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Manch.

Date: 29 January 2021

Location: Sisauli, Muzaffarnagar

Event: Mahapanchayat

After eight years, it was the biggest mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar in western Uttar Pradesh, in which thousands of farmers and villagers gathered. Ghulam Mohammad Jaula, who was close to Mahendra Singh Tikait, was also present on the stage.

Naresh Tikait, president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union was present on the stage.

Jayant Chaudhary, son of farmer leader Chaudhary Ajit Singh, comes on stage and he prostrates by touching the feet of Ghulam Mohammad Joule. Naresh Tikait Ghulam embraces Mohammed Jaula.

While addressing the mahapanchayat, Jowla tells the farmers and Jat leaders present there - "The Jats committed two mistakes. One defeated Chaudhary Ajit Singh and the other attacked the Muslims."

Despite this statement by Ghulam Mohammad Jaula, there was silence in the entire Mahapanchayat. Nobody objected to this.

Some leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union told that 'the silence was clouded because all the Jat and peasant leaders who came to the mahapanchayat believed that the slaves were saying Mohammad Joula He was right.

But the leaders of BKU believe that the foundation of what Jowla was saying fell in January 2018, when Ghulam Mohammad Jowla and Naresh Tikait started a campaign to reunite Jats and Muslims.

Experts say - Jats and farmers of western Uttar Pradesh had started exploring their political future in the Bharatiya Janata Party by shifting from Samajwadi Party, Congress, and Bahujan Samaj Party. Immediately, the Tikait brothers also started to mold themselves into this new politics.

Some leaders of Naresh Tikait and Rakesh Tikait from the BKU told , "In the year 2018, a 20-member committee was formed by Ghulam Mohammad Joula and Naresh Tikait, who went from village to village, forgetting the old things from Muslims and Jat farmers" "To unite with". Despite this exercise, both sides never pressured each other to take sides or oppose any political party.

Rakesh Tikait's video

The atmosphere was still hot about the violence during the tractor parade, meanwhile, Rakesh Tikait became emotional while talking to reporters. This video of him became so viral that those who had gone away from the peasant movement returned.

This time, even those people who are not directly involved in the movement are reaching the Ghazipur border. These people do not belong to anyone's religion or caste.

Apart from farmers and common villagers, many political personalities also reached the Ghazipur border to meet farmer leader Rakesh Tikait. Among those who met were Akali Dal leader and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, besides Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu, Jayant Chaudhary, and Deepender Singh Hooda.

Apart from Chaudhary Ajit Singh, Delhi Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav spoke to Rakesh Tikait and announced their support.

So, is Rakesh Tikait adopting a different method from the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, which runs the farmers' movement on the borders of Delhi?

Ashish Mittal, the convener of the dharna of farmers running on the Ghazipur border, does not believe so.

He says, "Initially no leader was allowed to come on stage."

He says, "Initially we kept any political party separate from the stage. But everything changed and the movement spread a lot from the night of 26 January. So the leaders of political parties are also coming and announcing their support Are. "

Mittal says that even now the leader of any political party is not allowed to speak from the stage.

Viju Krishnan, leader of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, says, "Since January 26, leaders have been arriving at the Ghazipur border to show solidarity. They say that farmers' organizations are seeking support from all and people are also coming forward. "

New offer

Recently a news agency ran the news quoting Rakesh Tikait that he wants the current central government to suspend all the three agricultural laws for the next 36 months. That means until the remaining term of this government. Here too, Rakesh Tikait took a separate line from the Morcha, because the Morcha says that till the three laws are completely withdrawn, the farmers' movement will not return.

This proposal has also come from Naresh Tikait that why the government does not cancel the new agricultural law for 2024 instead of 18 months? Naresh Tikait has suggested this in his interview.

Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha general secretary Avik Saha says, "So far Rakesh Tikait's talk is not harming the movement. However, he has worked to garner even more support. He talks like this without any cost- Wrap up, so the front has no objection. "

Saha told "Every person has his idea, which he is free to keep. The United Kisan Morcha welcomes every organization and person who has come forward in support of the farmers' demands."

But recently the president of the National Farmers Workers Organization, who broke away from the Kisan agitation, alleged that the leaders or workers of political parties, who had come to support earlier, were not allowed to go on the stage. He used to sit down in front.

VM Singh says that since 26 January, now the leaders are not only coming on the stage but are also addressing from there.

VM Singh also accused the Tikait brothers of working for the ruling party, which BKU leader Ashish Mittal rejected, saying, "There was only one Abhay Chautala who addressed the people from the stage. The remaining leaders came, he was not allowed to give a speech. Even if someone addressed the farmers, they did it from under the platform and not from the platform. "

Sanjay Madhav, the convener of the movement on the Tikari border, says, "If indeed Rakesh Tikait has demanded the postponement of agricultural laws for 36 months, then this may be his personal view which should be respected. But anyone related to the movement The policy decision will be based on the general opinion of the representatives of the 40 farmer organizations involved in it. "

Regardless of what the leaders of the United Kisan Morcha say, it is true that Rakesh Tikait joined the peasant movement for quite a while, but is the most discussed in today's date.

Experts say that whatever happened on January 26, the image of the movement was tarnished. There also came a time when it seemed that the movement would end. But it is Rakesh Tikait who revived it. Therefore, the leaders of the Front do not have much objection to what they do at the moment.

They say that Rakesh had joined the Tikait movement for quite a while, but at this time he has become the biggest face of the movement.
