Patna, Feb 5 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Thursday said he was working under pressure amid reports that he would be removed by the ruling JD-U.
"I am working under pressure," Manjhi said at a public meeting in Jehanabad district, about 50 km from here.
Manjhi refuted reports that he was likely to resign, amid speculation that he would be replaced by former chief minister and Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar.
"It's all a media creation that I will resign," he said.
JD-U president Sharad Yadav, meanwhile, made it clear that there was no plan to replace Manjhi. "At present, it is not in our agenda at all," he told the media here.
Nitish Kumar, however, refused to say anything on the issue.
Asked whether Manjhi would be removed, he replied: "I have nothing to say."
