Today is the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Parliament House, the temple of Indian democracy. Terrorists attacked the Parliament House on 13 December 2001. It has been 21 years since the attack on Parliament, but even today the memory of this dastardly terrorist attack is fresh in the hearts and minds of Indians. Nine soldiers were martyred in this attack that took place 21 years ago on this day, in which five Delhi Police personnel were involved. At the same time, all the five terrorists who attacked were also killed.

On this occasion, several leaders including Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the martyred soldiers in the Parliament premises on Tuesday and remembered their supreme sacrifice.

The terrorists came in the ambassador's car

On the morning of 13 December 2001, the winter session of Parliament started. Opposition MPs were creating a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha by raising slogans about the coffin scam, the thief of the shroud, the army shedding blood leaving the throne, and the government eating brokerage. The House was adjourned for 45 minutes. Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Congress President Sonia Gandhi had left Parliament for home.

However, all MPs including Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani were present in the Parliament. Just then, five terrorists of Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba enter the Parliament House complex in a white ambassador car. A terrorist blows himself up with a bomb at the gate of the Parliament House. The terrorists had also put a sticker of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the ambassador's car.

Afzal Guru was hanged in 2013
