To closely monitor the activities of the enemy along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) is working on special drones. These advanced multi-role drones equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will be able to fly for long periods and over high altitudes including the border with China.

Sources related to their development said that these drones with rotary wing will have the capacity to carry 40 kg weight. Missiles and sensors can be installed in these. These are being developed keeping in mind the needs of the army. The hilly and high areas of the LAC are being taken care of. These are kept in the category of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

The production of the Israeli drone Heron is also eyeing

HAL is exploring the possibility of production of Israeli drone Heron TP. Coordination is being done with their producer so that they can be prepared according to the needs of the Indian Army and can also be supplied globally. This drone is capable of flying for 45 hours at a medium altitude of 35 thousand feet. They are fitted with automatic taxi-take-off and landing (ATOL) and satellite communication systems.
