T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma thanked PM Modi, expressed happiness over the victory of the Indian team, also talked on the phone

Captain Rohit Sharma, who won the ICC trophy for India after 11 years, on Monday thanked PM Modi for his wishes. Hitman expressed his gratitude for his wishes by retweeting the Prime Minister's tweet. On Saturday, the Indian team won the final match against South Africa by seven runs. After this, Prime Minister Modi spoke to head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma Virat Kohli, and other players on the phone.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India won the T20 World Cup title after 17 years. Earlier in 2007, Team India won the first title under the leadership of then-captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Indian players performed brilliantly in this tournament. This is the reason why Prime Minister Modi tweeted after congratulating him on the victory over the phone. Hitman replied to this on Monday. Rohit wrote, "Narendra Modi Sir, thank you very much for your wishes. The team and I are very proud to be able to bring the cup home and we are truly overwhelmed by how happy it has brought everyone back home."

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi also tweeted praising Rohit Sharma. He wrote, "Dear Rohit, you are the epitome of excellence. Your aggressive mindset, batting, and captaincy have given a new dimension to the Indian team. Your T20 career will always be remembered. It was a pleasure to talk to you this morning."

After the final match, the PM spoke to the Indian team over the phone. He congratulated Rohit Sharma for his brilliant captaincy and praised his T20 career. He also praised Virat Kohli's innings in the final and his contribution to Indian cricket. PM Modi praised Hardik Pandya for his final over and Suryakumar Yadav for his catch. He also praised Jasprit Bumrah's contribution. The PM also thanked Rahul Dravid for his contribution to Indian cricket.
