
A painful incident has come to light from the Punjab province of Pakistan. On Tuesday, 20 people were burnt alive in a fierce collision between a passenger bus and an oil tanker. The accident happened on a motorway in Multan, about 350 km from Lahore. Traffic was disrupted for several hours after the accident. Speeding is said to be the cause of the accident.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson said, 20 people were killed when a bus going from Lahore to Karachi collided with an oil tanker. After the collision, both the bus and the tanker caught fire and the passengers were burnt alive. The scorched people have been admitted to Multan's Nishtar Hospital, where they are in critical condition, he said.
Unrecognizable dead bodies
The spokesperson further said, 'Most of the bodies of the deceased passengers have been completely burnt. They cannot be recognized. These bodies will be handed over to the families after the DNA test. He further said that after the accident the fire engulfed both the vehicles, making it very difficult for the rescue and fire teams to carry out the rescue operation.
Punjab Chief Minister expressed grief over the accident
Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi has condoled the loss of lives in the accident and directed the concerned health authorities to provide better treatment to the injured. He also directed the administration to cooperate in identifying the families of the deceased.
