Rae Bareli, April 27 (IANS) In a jibe at BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Sunday said a "56-inch chest" was not needed to govern India.
"We do not need a 56-inch chest to run this country. We need a heart full of kindness," she told a public meeting here while campaigning for her mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
"India does not need a show of one's achievements. She needs strength and determination of the mind," she added.
Priyanka Gandhi contended that this Lok Sabha election was not only about electing MPs but also about safeguarding the culture and values of this country.
"When you vote, think about the future of this country. You have to secure the future of this country, you have to safeguard India's cultural heritage," she said.
Priyanka Gandhi recounted the development work done by Sonia Gandhi, who represents Rae Bareli in the Lok Sabha, and sought another mandate for her mother.
Rae Bareli, which goes to polls April 30, now boasts of major hospitals, a central school and factories, she said.
