What to do in case of an air raid, how to extinguish a fire... From Jammu to UP; how is the preparation for mock drills going on across the country?

After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government is in a mood to take strict action against Pakistan. It is expected that the Indian Army can take decisive action against the terrorists and those supporting them. After the attack, high-level meetings are going on continuously under the chairmanship of PM Modi.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has asked all the states to conduct mock drills on May 7. Instructions have been given to organize large-scale civil defense mock drills on May 7 in 244 identified districts across the country. This will be the first such exercise after the war with Pakistan in 1971.

What is the purpose of the mock drill?

Workshops will be organized in schools, offices, and community centers in which people will be taught drop-and-cover, finding nearby shelters, first aid, and handling mental state. Apart from this, electricity will be suddenly switched off so that the city can be hidden from the enemy's eyes in case of an air attack at night.

It is worth noting that mock drills have started in many states of the country.

Students at a school in Jammu are being trained to deal with any situation during a mock drill exercise.

SDRF personnel in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, practiced in preparation for the mock drill to be held at Dal Lake tomorrow (May 7).

Following the Home Ministry's order for the mock drill, a mock drill was practiced at the police line in Lucknow.

The fire department team of Manipur assessed the preparations.

Why will the siren be sounded?

It is worth noting that red warning sirens will also be sounded in the mock drill. For the last few years, red sirens are sounded between Russia-Ukraine as a warning to the people of both the countries to avoid missile attacks.
