Delhi Weather Update: Amidst the bitter cold, the minimum temperature in the capital has dropped by about nine degrees in just two days. On January 8 this year, it was recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius.
Cold wave conditions prevailed in Delhi and Safdarjung Observatory, the city's base station, recorded a minimum temperature of 2.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Monday's minimum temperature was recorded here at 1.4 degrees Celsius.
Trains running late by eight hours
At the same time, due to fog, road and rail traffic has been disrupted in some parts of North India. According to a Northern Railway spokesperson, at least 15 trains were running late by an hour to eight hours due to the fog. The Palam Observatory, located near the Indira Gandhi International Airport, recorded a visibility level of 500 meters.

The humidity level in the air was 39 to 90 percent. Mahesh Palawat, vice president of Skymet Weather, said the minimum temperature in Delhi could drop by one degree Celsius on Tuesday.

After this, from January 19 to 21, the temperature will increase by four to six degrees Celsius.

Air quality remains in 'poor' category
Improvement in NCR's air pollution continued for the second day as well. Hence, the air quality also remained in the 'poor' category. According to Safar India, due to moderate wind speed, the pollution level has come down and will more or less remain in the same range for now. According to the Air Quality Bulletin released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Index (AQI) on Monday was 270, which is in the 'poor' category. The AQI was 213 a day earlier on Sunday. That is, within 24 hours, an increase of 67 points has been registered in it.
PM 2.5 and PM 10 levels have been recorded at 103 and 212 micrograms per cubic meter respectively. According to Safar India, the wind will blow at a speed of 8 to 14 kmph for the next three days. During this, the dust cover will remain in the atmosphere at a height of one to one and a half kilometers. Therefore, air quality is likely to remain in the 'poor' category.
