116 killed in earthquake in China: When high-rise buildings became piles of debris due to 6.1 magnitude tremors, see

Earthquake Today in China: So far 116 people have been confirmed dead in the earthquake that occurred in China late Monday night. At the same time, more than 400 have been injured. This earthquake of 6.1 magnitude occurred in Gansu and Qinghai provinces late on Monday night. The epicenter of the earthquake was 10 kilometers underground in Sala County in Linxia Hui, Gansu. How fatal it proved to be for high-rise buildings in the province can be seen in the pictures and videos from China. China's emergency services have been entrusted with the responsibility of safely evacuating people from many buildings that were reduced to debris immediately after the earthquake. Chinese President Xi Jinping has also asked all parts of the government and administration to conduct an all-out operation.

Videos and pictures related to this earthquake that occurred in Gansu province have been shared by the local media of China. Apart from this, some people have also described the horrific scene. In one of these videos, which has gone viral on social media, a room in a high-rise building can be seen trembling badly. During this time, items and plaster from the room were also seen breaking and falling.

 

In the pictures coming out from China, many tall buildings can be seen turning into debris. During this time, people were seen coming out of their homes and running here and there in search of a safe place. According to Xinhua News Agency, electricity and water supply was cut in many villages after this earthquake. Along with this, many vehicles of emergency services can be seen running in the affected areas to help the people.

 

Relief work started, the rescue team was ready on the spot, President gave instructions

According to a social media post, university students came out of their dormitories as soon as the earthquake was felt in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu. There was a commotion there. Chinese media reported that the rescue team had reached the spot. Rescue operations have been started. Tents, folding beds, and quilts are being delivered to the spot. Chinese President Xi Jinping has given instructions to speed up the rescue work. Along with this, he has also given instructions to take measures to reduce the number of deaths. The injured are being admitted to the hospital, where their treatment is ongoing.
