But the death toll has been increasing for several days. According to the report released by the Union Health Ministry, 5,921 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. However, a slight decline has been registered as compared to yesterday.
Meanwhile, there has been an increase in the cases of death again today. In the last 24 hours, 289 people have lost their lives. Yesterday 201 deaths were recorded. With this, now the total death toll across the country has reached 5,14,878.
Reduction of inactive cases with a positivity rate
Talking about people recovering from Corona, it is also increasing continuously. In 24 hours, 11,651 people have recovered and defeated Corona. With this, the total recovery has now gone up to 4,23,78,721. The positivity rate has now come down to 0.63 percent. On the other hand, active cases have also now come down to only 63,878.
Total vaccinations crossed 178.55 crores
Despite the decrease in corona cases, the government is leaving no stone unturned in its vaccination campaign. Due to this speed of vaccination, now the total dosage figure has reached 1,78,55,66,940. Children are also being rapidly dosed. Meanwhile, an important decision has been taken yesterday regarding the vaccination of children. The subject expert committee of DCGI has approved vaccination for children in the age group of 12 to 17 years.
