Heavy police personnel raided some 130 locations of far-right extremists in Germany. During this, the police detained 25 members and supporters belonging to the extremist group Reichsburger. It is alleged that these people were trying to topple the government in the country through force. Members of the far-right group want to see the prince as a national leader who is believed to have the support of Russia.
Action will be taken with full force: German government
According to the news agency Reuters, members of the Reichsberger group do not consider Germany to be a legitimate state. Some of these people are devoted to the monarchy of the German Empire while some people are inspired by Nazi ideology. Some of these people believe that Germany is still under military occupation.
However, according to the Kremlin, there is no question of Russia's involvement in the matter. The German government has also said that action will be taken in this matter with full force according to the law. An officer associated with the military intelligence service said that the soldier and many people who could be called into the army if needed were also questioned.
Officials raided 11 states
In the crackdown on these suspected extremists, 3,000 officers raided 130 locations in 11 of the country's 16 states. In the action, 22 German nationals and 3 others, including a Russian, were arrested on suspicion of membership in a terrorist group.
Government spokesman Stefan Hebestreit informed that we are currently talking about a group that carried out an armed attack on the German Parliament building and tried to hurt the country's democratic state law.
Let us tell that among those arrested on charges of terrorist conspiracy, a 72-year-old retired military commander and former MP of the right-wing party are also included. A prosecutor told that the 25 people arrested in this case had a definite intention to forcefully enter the parliament with weapons. Of these, 22 people are citizens of Germany. One of the remaining 3 people is also a Russian woman who was supporting these people.
