The BJP has termed the expansion of the Shinde cabinet in Maharashtra on Tuesday as a murder of democracy and the Constitution. In its mouthpiece 'Saamana', the party said that the petition for disqualification of the rebel MLAs is pending in the Supreme Court, and during this time they have been sworn in as ministers. This step is like democracy and the constitution.
In Saamana, Shiv Sena taunted and questioned that 'the rebels have taken a dip in the Ganges river by taking oath as minister, but will they be able to wash away the sin of betrayal?' It was also written that 'The Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari had expressions on his face as if he was performing some divine rituals while administering the oath to the ministers.'
In 'Saamana' coming out in Marathi, Shiv Sena has also targeted CM Eknath Shinde for going to Delhi seven times before the expansion of the cabinet. Shiv Sena wrote that in the last month, Shinde went to Delhi seven times and discussed the cabinet expansion every time.
Sword of disqualification on 39 rebels
The Shinde cabinet was expanded on Tuesday, the 41st day after the swearing-in of Eknath Shinde for the post of CM and Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy CM. In this, Shiv Sena's rebel Shinde faction and BJP's nine ministers, thus making a total of 18 ministers. Regarding this extension, Shiv Sena said that administering oath to the rebels when the issue of disqualification is under consideration in the Supreme Court is the murder of democracy and the Constitution. The sword of disqualification is still hanging against Shinde and 39 Shiv Sena rebels.
