Rahul Gandhi Defamation Case: Rahul Gandhi gets bail in 2018 defamation case, Congress leader leaves Sultanpur court

Former Congress national president and MP Rahul Gandhi has got bail in the defamation case. MP Rahul Gandhi appeared in the court on Tuesday in the ongoing case here on charges of making indecent remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The court granted bail to the Congress leader who appeared amid heavy security.

 

Rahul Gandhi had reached Sultanpur court to appear in the defamation case of 2018. Sultanpur MP MLA court granted him bail and he left for Amethi. It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi is staying in Amethi these days. Rahul Gandhi is engaged in helping the people of Uttar Pradesh through Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra.

Former president of the cooperative bank and BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in the special court five years ago, in which the decision came a few days ago. The judge has ordered Rahul to appear in the case. The complainant alleges that on July 15, 2018, BJP workers Anirudh Shukla and Dinesh Kumar had shown a video clip on their mobile. In this Rahul Gandhi was calling Amit Shah a murderer. The statements are from the press conference held in Bengaluru, which was regarding the death of Justice Loya.

 

Defamation case against Rahul

Mishra's advocate Santosh Pandey said that based on the statement and evidence of the complainant and two witnesses, Special Magistrate Yogesh Yadav had ordered a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi on November 27 last year. After this, summons were issued thrice to appear. On the last appearance date (January 18), senior advocate Kashi Prasad Shukla had filed the Vakalatnama on behalf of Rahul.
