Corona in the country: 1.61 lakh cases in 24 hours, less than 2 lakh for the second consecutive day; Positivity rate also below 10%

1.61 lakh cases were reported in the country on Tuesday. During this, 2.81 lakh people were cured, while 1,733 people have died. A day before this, on Monday, 1,67,059 people were found infected. Compared to the previous day, 5,673 fewer infected have been found, that is, a decrease of 3.51% has been seen in new cases.

 

The positivity rate also came down to 9.26% on Tuesday, from 11.69% on Monday the day before. For the second consecutive day, less than 2 lakh new cases have been found in the country. During the increase in cases before the peak, 1.59 lakh cases were received on 8 January, the maximum number of 3.47 lakh new cases were received on 20 January. Since January 20, there has been a steady decline in the corona case.

 

At present, the total number of active cases in the country, that is, the number of patients undergoing treatment is 16.21 lakh. The number of active cases has decreased by about 1,20,753 as compared to the previous day. The total cases have crossed 4.16 crores.

 

According to the Health Ministry, out of 1,733 deaths recorded in the country, 1,063 deaths have occurred in Kerala during the last few days, whose figures have just been added.

Condition of 5 most affected states

 

1. Kerala: 23% increase in new cases compared to the previous day

51,887 new infected have been found here on Tuesday, while 40,383 patients have been cured and 142 people died. A day earlier on Monday, 42,154 new infections were found and 91 people died. There has been an increase of 9,733 in new cases on Tuesday as compared to Monday.

 

Since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 60.77 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 56.53 lakh people have been cured, while 55,600 people died. The positivity rate is 42.86%.

 

2. Tamil Nadu: Positivity rate down to 12.32%

On Tuesday, 16,096 new cases were reported here. 25,592 people were cured and 35 people died. Earlier on Monday, 19,280 new cases were reported and 20 people died.

 

So far, a total of 33.61 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 31.35 lakh people have been cured, while 37,599 people have died. Here the active case is 1.88 lakh and the positivity rate is 12.32%. The day before this, the positivity rate was 14.78%.

 

3. Maharashtra: 30 thousand patients were cured in a day

In Maharashtra, 14,372 new cases of the corona were found in the last 24 hours. During this 94 people died and 30,093 patients were cured. A day before this, 15,140 new cases were found and 39 people died. Now the total active cases in the state have come down to 1.91 lakh.

 

So far, a total of 7735 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 73.97 lakh people have been cured, while 1.42 lakh people have died. The positivity rate is 9.40%, up from 11.94% on Monday the day before.

 

4. Karnataka: Positivity rate reduced by 4%

On Tuesday, 14,366 new cases were found in Karnataka, while 60,914 people defeated Corona. During this 58 people died. A day before this, 24,172 new cases were found on Monday and 56 people died.

 

So far, a total of 38.23 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 35.87 lakh people have been cured, while 39,056 people have died. At present, the number of patients undergoing treatment here is 1.97 lakh, while the positivity rate is 13.85%, which was 17.11% a day ago.

 

5. Gujarat: 10 thousand 511 people died so far

On Tuesday, 8,338 new cases were found in Gujarat. In the state, 16,629 people defeated Corona, while 38 people died. A day before this, on Monday, 6,679 new cases were found and 35 people died. So far 11.68 lakh people have come under the grip of the virus. The death toll due to Corona has reached 10,511. The positivity rate in the state is 8.18%.

 

10 other major states

 

1. Madhya Pradesh: 2% drop in positivity rate

In the last 24 hours, 6,243 cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh and 10,624 people were cured. During this 6 people died. A day before this, i.e. on Monday, 8,062 cases were reported and 9 people died.

 

So far, more than 9.73 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.06 lakh people have been cured, while 10,552 people died. 56,294 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 8.70% which was 10.81% a day ago.

 

2. Andhra Pradesh: Positivity rate reduced by 6%

In Andhra, 6,213 new cases were reported here in the last 24 hours, while 10,795 people were cured and 5 people died. Earlier on Monday, 5,879 new cases were reported and 9 people died. So far 22.82 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 21.62 lakh people have been cured, while 14,620 people have died. Active cases are 1.05 lakh. The positivity rate has come down from 23.25% to 17.73%.

 

3. Rajasthan: 20 people died in 24 hours

On Tuesday, 6,212 cases were reported here, while 9,288 people were cured and 20 people died. Earlier on Monday, 6,369 new cases were reported and 23 people died. So far 12.12 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 11.40 lakh people have been cured, while 9,288 people died. There are 63 thousand active cases here.

 

4. Uttar Pradesh: Positivity rate down to 3.44%

There were 4,651 new corona cases in the last 24 hours. 12,263 people were cured and 26 people died. Earlier on Monday, 6,226 new corona cases came and 18 people died. So far 20.24 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 19.53 lakh people have been cured, while 23,233 people died. 47,198 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state.

 

5. Odisha: 17 people died in 24 hours

In Odisha, 3,086 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. During this, 7,767 people were cured and 17 people died. A day before this, 3,329 new cases were registered and 18 people died. So far 12.52 lakh people of the state have come under the grip of infection. At the same time, the death toll has reached 8,629. The total number of active patients in the state is 34,331. The positivity rate is 5.21%. The day before this, the positivity rate was 5.87%.

 

6. Chhattisgarh: Positivity rate 6.82%

In Chhattisgarh, 3,241 cases were registered in the last 24 hours. During this 5,600 people were cured and 16 people died. Earlier on Tuesday, 2,693 cases were found and 19 people died.

So far, 11.29 lakh people of the state have come under the grip of infection. At the same time, the death toll has reached 13,869. The total number of active patients in the state is 21,162. The positivity rate is 6.82%.

 

7. Haryana: 15 dead

In the last 24 hours, 2,894 people were found infected in the state. 5,720 people have been cured and 15 people have died. Here on Monday, 3,563 people were found infected and 19 people died. So far, more than 9.52 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.19 lakh people have been cured, while 10,320 people died. A total of 22,726 patients are currently undergoing treatment. A day ago the positivity rate was 13.36% which is now 9.83%.

 

8. Delhi: Positivity rate continues to decline

On Monday, 2,683 new corona cases were reported in Delhi and 27 people died. 4,837 people were cured. A day before this, on Monday, 2,779 new corona cases were reported and 38 people died. So far, more than 18.32 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 17.90 lakh have been cured while 25,892 have died. The positivity rate in Delhi was 30% on January 15, which has come down to 5.09% on Tuesday.

 

9. West Bengal: Three times the number of patients recovered from the new case

On Tuesday, 2,014 new cases have been found in West Bengal. During this, 5,548 patients were cured, while 33 people have died. On Monday, 1,910 cases were found and 36 people died. A total of 19.97 lakh cases have been found in the state so far, while 19.54 lakh people have been cured. A total of 20,652 people have died. The active case is 22,142. There has been a decrease of 3,567 inactive cases on the last day. The positivity rate here is 4.09%.

 

10. Punjab: Positivity rate reduced by about 3%

In Punjab, 1,597 new infections have been found on the last day and 39 people have died. 5,475 people have also recovered from the infection. A day earlier on Monday, 2,347 were found infected and 39 people died.

So far 7.45 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.06 lakh people have been cured, while 17,292 people died. Active cases are 20,937. The positivity rate in the state is 5.75%, which was 8.48% a day earlier.
