Given the possible danger, the Bengal and Odisha governments have started the work of sending people from low-lying areas of many districts to safer places.
According to IMD, the weather system is currently located as a low-pressure area over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. It may further intensify into a depression on Saturday and into a deep depression on Sunday before intensifying into a cyclonic storm on Monday. Thereafter, it will move in the north and northeast direction towards West Bengal and Bangladesh.
