Team India has been announced for the three-match T-20 series against Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have returned to the T-20 team after a long time, while many senior players have been rested. However, KL Rahul, who is in excellent form, has been ignored by the selectors. Rahul's ignorance has not been liked by the fans at all on social media.

Why was KL Rahul ignored?

KL Rahul has not been included in the team selected for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan. Rahul is in very good form at the moment and his bat also performed well during the South Africa tour. Despite this, Rahul has not been included in the 16-member team. Fans are angry on social media over Rahul being ignored.

Rahul played his last T20 match in 2022

KL Rahul played his last T20 match against England in the year 2022. Rahul has played a total of 72 T20 matches for the Indian team so far. During this period, the right-handed batsman has scored 2265 runs at a strike rate of 139. Rahul has also scored two centuries and 22 half-centuries in the shortest format of cricket. However, in recent times, Rahul's strike rate has been under a lot of question. In the year 2022, Rahul scored runs at a strike rate of 126.

Senior players got a rest

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and KL Rahul have been rested for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan. The performance of Bumrah and Siraj was amazing in South Africa.

Shivam-Samson got a chance

Sanju Samson has also been included in the Indian team selected against Afghanistan. Sanju did not get a place in the T-20 team during the South Africa tour. Shivam Dubey, who played his last match for India in the Asian Games, has also made a comeback.
